NOTE
The low--range planetary carrier does not require staking. They are held together with a
retainer.
18. Repeat steps 13 through 17, above to assemble and install remaining pinions.
19. Position main bearing support (2), open end of bearing bore up, in press. Coat outer surface of main bearing (9)
with white lead. Press main bearing (9) into bearing support (2) bore. Set main bearing (9) against shoulder in
bearing support (2) bore.
20. Position reverse--range planetary carrier assembly (11), bevel gear down. Install reverse ring gear (12), shallow
counterbore down, onto reverse--range carrier assembly (11).
