REMOVAL – Continued
NOTE
Loosen, but do not remove two of the 40 bolts securing the lockup clutch to the housing. Two bolts
must be left until converter is properly positioned.
Converter pump must be rotated to gain access to lockup clutch bolts.
2. Remove 38 bolts of the 40 bolts securing converter lockup clutch to housing through access hole (2).
3. Place housing (3) on wooden blocks and remove two remaining lockup clutch to housing bolts. Attach sling and
remove lockup clutch assembly (4) from housing (3).
