If replacement is necessary, perform steps 10 and 11. These procedures apply toboth assemblies.10. Remove 18 screws (20) from each stator assembly. Discard screws.11. Press stator cam (21) and thrust washer (22) out toward flat side of stator. Use a round press tool which will clearbore of stator, but will seat on thrust washer.12. Remove 12 self--locking bolts (23) which retain accessory drive gear (24). Remove gear (24) from converterpump (25). Discard self--locking bolts.
